Retail Sales Associate - 2275

Pay rate: $10.00 to $14.00 per hour plus commission. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $2.72 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

About the role

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker/Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire store team to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. Associates greet, engage, and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. The role involves working with a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and merchandise displays.
• Perform sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle all cash and negotiable items following company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicate the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Collaborate with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete assigned training.
• Assist customers in parking lots or exterior areas, and retrieve products from storage as needed.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified (where applicable).
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work with people, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexibility to work a retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literacy and ability to operate Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems and office machines.

Pay

Hourly wage: $10.00 to $14.00, plus commission up to 8% of transactions. Actual pay depends on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Schedule

Most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many locations are closed on Sundays. Schedule is flexible based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.

Commission Plan

The commission incentive plan is proprietary. Pawnbrokers can earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Details are provided during the interview process.
