About the role

Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. The role has expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and part knowledge. This role can perform advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers, and source parts from multiple channels including special order, FDO, and second sources. The position is full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
  • Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
  • Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance
  • Perform key holder responsibilities (task assignment, safety, open/close duties)
  • Assist in store inventory processes including truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, and back stock
  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.)
  • Ability to speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
  • Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel required)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work varied days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Valid driver’s license

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience
  • Proven sales ability with past experience in customer transactions
  • ASE P2 certification or ASE-ready equivalent (preferred but not required)

Skills

  • Advanced automotive system and parts knowledge
  • Operating inventory systems and store equipment
  • Operating POS and parts lookup systems
  • Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
  • Advanced parts lookup, sourcing, and selling skills
  • Project and product quality recommendation ability

Pay

The good faith estimate for this role is between $17.15 USD and $19.08 USD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered depends on geographic location, experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and shift differential (if applicable).
