About the role
Professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. The role requires expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and part knowledge. Responsibilities include advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers, as well as sourcing parts from multiple channels. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
- Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
- Perform key holder responsibilities (task assignment, safety, open/close duties).
- Assist in store inventory processes (truck put away, cycle counts, back stock, etc.).
- Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).
Requirements
- Working knowledge of automotive systems (internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.).
- Ability to speak and write English (Spanish a plus); strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience.
- Proven sales ability with experience in customer transactions.
- ASE P2 certification or ASE-ready equivalent (preferred but not required).
Skills
- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing.
- Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
- Advanced selling skills for DIY customers.
- Ability to provide advanced solutions, project assistance, and product quality recommendations.
- Proficiency in operating POS, parts lookup systems, and inventory systems.
Pay
The good faith estimate for this role is between $15.60 USD and $17.35 USD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered depends on geographic location, experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other relevant skillsets, including shift differentials if applicable.
