About the role

The Retail Team Lead at Office Depot is a part-time role responsible for providing "total solutions" to customers, encompassing products, technology, services, furniture, and print offerings. The role involves building and maintaining customer relationships, supporting sales offerings, engaging with the local community, and contributing to a positive culture aligned with Office Depot's 5C values.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Print Sales and Services: Support efficient operation while driving overall store sales. Operate and assist associates on all equipment within the Print Services area, ensuring correct and timely completion of customer orders. Utilize communication tools to request assistance and coordinate service for customers.

  • Operational Efficiency: Process merchandise accurately and efficiently, adhering to established procedures, deadlines, and visual merchandising standards. Identify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste and inefficiencies. Ensure compliance with company policies and support loss prevention efforts.

  • Client Engagement: Drive positive client satisfaction levels through coaching and training associates to enhance the customer experience. Support community outreach initiatives to retain clients. Continuously develop personal selling skills and product knowledge.

  • External Key Carrier and Leader on Duty: Ensure safety and security during the absence of the management team. Assist in reviewing key performance indicators, activating/deactivating the store’s alarm system, and performing opening/closing responsibilities. Assist in cash handling, cashier, and merchandise error logs, register voids, tax exemptions, and related cash office audits.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent education preferred

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in related field

  • Sales and/or Customer Service experience preferred

  • Basic computer skills and ability to use computers and technology for information access

  • Skilled in Customer Service and Print Services experience desired

  • Advanced selling skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, adaptability, and ability to assist others professionally

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to process information/merchandise through POS register system, and attention to detail for high-quality production in the Print Services area

  • Passion for the brand, products, services, and solutions offered to customers

  • Desire to continually develop personal selling skills and product knowledge

  • Drive for results, decision quality, patience
