Retail Operations Assistant Manager
About the Role
The Assistant Manager, Retail Operations supports and executes day-to-day operational functions across the Retail division. This role ensures operational excellence through effective inventory management, receiving and shipping processes, point-of-sale systems administration, inventory accuracy, loss prevention initiatives, and compliance with established operational standards. Working closely with Store Managers, the Retail Stock Team, and cross-functional partners, the Assistant Manager drives process consistency, operational efficiency, and inventory integrity across all retail locations. This position plays a critical role in supporting the guest experience by ensuring seamless store operations and maintaining a well-organized, compliant retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee inventory management processes, including receiving, transfers, cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliation activities, and resolution of inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and support inventory shrink reduction initiatives through audits, reporting, and process compliance.
- Process, review, and audit vouchers, invoices, and purchase order reconciliations to ensure inventory and financial accuracy.
- Maintain operational records and documentation in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, and stockroom operations to ensure timely and accurate movement of merchandise across all retail locations.
- Execute markdowns, price changes, promotional setups, and system updates in partnership with Store Management and the Retail Stock Team.
- Train, coach, and provide ongoing guidance to team members regarding operational procedures, inventory controls, systems utilization, and company standards.
- Serve as a liaison between Retail Operations and support departments, including Finance, Information Technology, Facilities, Security, and Human Resources, to address operational issues and ensure business continuity.
- Support retail initiatives, including new store openings, renovations, stockroom optimization projects, pop-up concepts, and special events.
- Analyze inventory and operational reporting to identify trends, improve efficiencies, and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness, productivity, and service delivery.
- Ensure stockrooms and back-of-house areas remain clean, organized, secure, and compliant with safety standards.
- Support compliance with company policies, operational procedures, loss prevention standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence through leadership and professional conduct.
- May assist with scheduling, assigning work, and coordinating operational activities within the Retail Operations team.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Three (3) years of retail management experience preferred.
- Experience in luxury retail sales preferred.
- Passion for fashion and knowledge of current trends and styles.
- Ability to deliver product knowledge training on new product categories and deliveries.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
- Proficiency in basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to calculate percentages and ratios.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to customers and remaining flexible to business needs.
- Ability to work as part of a team, take initiative, problem-solve, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software and ability to operate general office equipment.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with customers, management, staff, and external contacts.
- Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to organizational success through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or utilize objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and peripheral vision.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas, including confined spaces.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Pay
$60,000 – $70,000 per year.
