Retail & Online Sales Assistant

Contract type: Permanent. Full-time (37 hours per week) or part-time (15 hours per week) options available. Based in Northumberland.

Assistant Children North East is a large North East based children’s charity that works across the region, with some work extending across England, Wales and Scotland. We exist because growing up can be hard. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Retail Sales Assistant to join the team in our flagship boutique in Morpeth, Northumberland. This is a dual-aspect role: part of your time will be spent working with staff and volunteers to sort donations and provide a brilliant in-store experience for customers and donors. The rest of your time will support our Retail Manager in building online sales through platforms like eBay and Vinted—spotting items with online potential, styling them, photographing them, creating eye-catching listings, and helping turn donations into vital income for our charity.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves retail but wants something a little different. You will have the chance to shape our online shop, bring your own ideas, and make a real impact while supporting the charity’s work.

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming and efficient in-store experience for customers and donors.
• Sort, assess, and prepare donated items for sale.
• Identify, style, photograph, and list high-potential items on eBay, Vinted, and other online platforms.
• Create compelling, eye-catching online listings to maximize sales.
• Support the Retail Manager in growing online sales and contributing to the charity’s income.
• Bring creative ideas to enhance the boutique’s in-store and online presence.

Pay

£25,877 per annum (fixed salary).
