About the role

As a Merchandising Colleague—also known as a Front of House Colleague—you’ll play a critical role in delivering a seamless, inspiring in-store experience. You will be responsible for executing merchandise movement and placement strategies, enhancing the visual appeal of the sales floor, maintaining well-organized and shoppable displays, and ensuring that pricing and promotional signage is accurate and up to date. Your attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence will directly impact our customers’ experience. You’ll be a visible and welcoming presence on the floor, greeting customers with genuine hospitality and offering assistance to ensure they feel seen, supported, and valued.

Collaboration is key to this role. You’ll work closely with colleagues across departments to meet shared goals, support sales, and contribute to a culture of hospitality, positivity, and making every customer feel welcome by greeting them with a smile and offering your help whenever needed.

Responsibilities

  • Begin each day by ensuring the sales floor is clean, organized, and prepared for customers.
  • Support visual merchandising by updating mannequins, resetting floor layouts, and aligning presentation with company directives.
  • Greet customers warmly, make eye contact, and engage in friendly, personal conversations.
  • Actively listen to customer needs and provide thoughtful assistance to build lasting relationships.
  • Maintain a shoppable space by recovering the floor and fitting rooms, updating signs and pricing, replenishing merchandise, and supporting merchandise moves.
  • Share Loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have all they need, and end interactions with a sincere thank-you.
  • Collaborate with the team to reorganize the department, restock merchandise, and prepare the space for the next day.
  • Support colleagues with honesty, care, and collaboration to better serve customers and communities.
  • Strive to improve daily, take pride in your work, achieve sales goals, and learn from others to deliver individual and store results.
  • Create a welcoming, friendly environment for customers and colleagues, fostering meaningful connections.
  • Learn about store products and provide expert guidance to customers based on their wants, features, and choices.
  • Acquire new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits.
  • Effectively use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions and enhance the shopping experience.
  • Work seamlessly with colleagues at all levels and across departments to drive sales and elevate the customer experience.
  • Meet daily sales goal challenges.

Requirements

  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English.

Skills

  • Ability to create connections with customers and help the store achieve sales goals.
  • Ability to participate in sales-boosting events.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale technology and digital tools.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with colleagues across departments.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
  • Standing for at least two consecutive hours.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
  • Reaching, including above eye level.
  • Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers.

Schedule

Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. All schedules include weekend shifts as part of the requirements. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
