About the role
As a Merchandising Colleague—also known as a Front of House Colleague—you’ll play a critical role in delivering a seamless, inspiring in-store experience. You will execute merchandise movement and placement strategies, enhance the visual appeal of the sales floor, maintain well-organized and shoppable displays, and ensure pricing and promotional signage is accurate and up-to-date. Your attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence will directly impact our customers’ experience.
You’ll be a visible and welcoming presence on the floor, greeting customers with genuine hospitality and offering assistance to ensure they feel seen, supported, and valued. Collaboration is key: you’ll work closely with colleagues across departments to meet shared goals, support sales, and contribute to a culture of hospitality and positivity.
Responsibilities
- Update mannequins, reset floor layouts, and align presentation with company directives to set the tone for an impactful shopping experience
- Greet customers warmly, make eye contact, and engage in friendly, personal conversations to understand their needs and provide thoughtful assistance
- Maintain a shoppable space by recovering the floor and fitting rooms, updating signs and pricing, replenishing merchandise, and supporting merchandise moves
- Share Loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have all they need, and end interactions with a sincere thank-you
- Collaborate with the team to reorganize the department, restock merchandise, and prepare the space for the next day
- Support one another with honesty, care, and collaboration to better serve customers and communities
- Strive to improve daily, take pride in your work, achieve sales goals, and learn from colleagues to deliver results
- Acquire new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits
- Use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions and enhance the shopping experience
- Work seamlessly with colleagues at all levels and across departments to drive sales and elevate the customer experience
- Meet daily sales goal challenges
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
- Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English
- Ability to create connections with customers, help the store achieve sales goals, and participate in sales-boosting events
- Ability to foster a welcoming, friendly environment for customers and colleagues through meaningful conversations
- Ability to learn about store products and provide expert guidance to customers based on their wants, features, and choices
Essential Physical Requirements
- Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands
- Standing for at least two consecutive hours
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
- Reaching, including above eye level
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers
Schedule
- Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week
- Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week
- All schedules include weekend shifts as a requirement
- Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability
