About the role

As a Merchandising Colleague – also known as a Front of House Colleague – you’ll play a critical role in delivering a seamless, inspiring in-store experience. You will be responsible for executing merchandise movement and placement strategies, enhancing the visual appeal of the sales floor, maintaining well-organized and shoppable displays, and ensuring that pricing and promotional signage is accurate and up to date. Your attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence will directly impact our customers’ experience. You’ll be a visible and welcoming presence on the floor, greeting customers with genuine hospitality and offering assistance to ensure they feel seen, supported, and valued. Collaboration is key to this role; you’ll work closely with colleagues across departments to meet shared goals, support sales, and contribute to a culture of hospitality, positivity and making every customer feel welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily merchandise movement and placement strategies to keep the sales floor shoppable and visually compelling.
  • Maintain accurate pricing and promotional signage; update as needed throughout the day.
  • Greet customers with genuine hospitality, make eye contact, initiate friendly conversations, actively listen to their needs, and provide thoughtful assistance to build lasting customer relationships.
  • Support visual merchandising by updating mannequins, resetting floor layouts, and aligning presentations with company directives.
  • Recover the floor and fitting rooms, replenish merchandise, and assist with merchandise moves to maintain a shoppable space.
  • Share Loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have everything they need, and conclude interactions with a sincere thank-you.
  • Collaborate with the team to reorganize departments, restock merchandise, and prepare the space for the next day.
  • Support sales-boosting events and help the store achieve daily sales goals.
  • Open credit accounts and proactively share loyalty benefits to acquire new customers.
  • Use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions and enhance the shopping experience.

Who you are

  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Able to read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English.
  • Able to create connection with customers, help the store achieve sales goals, and participate in sales-boosting events.
  • Able to learn about products and provide expert guidance to customers based on their wants, features, and choices.
  • Able to work seamlessly with colleagues at all levels and across departments to drive sales and elevate the customer experience.
  • Able to meet daily sales goal challenges.

Essential physical requirements

  • Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
  • Standing for at least two consecutive hours; lifting up to 50 lbs.; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders; reaching, including above eye level.
  • Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment, cash registers, and ability to process register transactions.
