About the role

The Area Manager (AM) will determine which responsibilities the Key West, Florida Base Manager is to focus on at Commissary and Convenience facilities on a specific military base or bases in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily tasks as assigned by EAGLE Eye, Retail IQ, and AM to service both Convenience and Commissary locations.
  • Commissary store tasks:
    • Maintain current distribution and increase distribution on new items using provided tools to meet the 30-day “Speed to Shelf” goal.
    • Manage ‘shelf max’ on all SKUs by working with the CAO coordinator.
    • Stock shelves opportunistically when out-of-stocks exist and back-stock is present, or when the Vendor Stocker is not present.
    • Secure and sell display activity; build displays as needed.
    • Secure product demonstration activity and order cases to support these events.
    • Responsible for shelf management, including:
      • Facings, resets, sign management, not-in-stock, pricing, coupons, and shelf tags.
    • Prompt reporting of e-VCMs (Vendor Credit Memos).
    • Maintain vendor stocker support group and perform stocker administration duties accurately and promptly.
    • Maintain work, price, and store records.
    • Maintain proper account call frequency.
    • Communicate store issues promptly to the AM.
    • Check code dates and ensure proper rotation.
    • Report in-store conditions using company technology and systems, including:
      • Not-in-stock scans, display performance, demo bookings, new item distribution, missing gaps, and pricing surveys.
    • Maintain a productive working relationship with store management and company management.
    • Perform other projects or requests as assigned by management.
  • Strategic and Tactical Base Manager tasks (Commissaries):
    • Blocking and tackling at the shelf.
    • Promotional support and keeping shelves full.
    • Securing tough display options and working with vendor stockers.
    • Display period execution and new items/Speed2Shelf.
    • Pushing OTB’s during season and GAP resolution.
    • Maintaining and maximizing display opportunities and NIS mitigation.
    • Seasonal promotions, signs, and coupons.
    • Front-end rack management and all VCM’s.
    • “S” Code SKU management and perishable focus.
    • Distributor inventory management – OTB and deleted items.
    • Product rotation and regional SKU management.
    • Minimizing shrink and product demonstration management.
    • Meat and produce weekly orders and relationship upselling.
    • Joint work resets (section and full store) and large mass display builds (Commissaries and/or Exchanges).
    • Fill in if another Base Manager is out or the position is open.
  • Convenience store tasks:
    • Maintain proper call frequency.
    • Sell and ensure proper shelf placement for all authorized items using provided tools.
    • Fill store shelves with back-stock if opportunities exist.
    • Scan store for missing gaps via hand-held device and obtain missing distribution.
    • Conduct inventory checks and write orders for all VON-related items.
    • Meet with each store manager as scheduled by the AM.
    • Responsible for shelf management, including:
      • Facings, resets, communicating auto-replenish issues, pricing, coupons, and POG compliance.
    • Check code dates and ensure proper rotation.
    • Write up and return ‘out-of-dates’ as outlined in specific manufacturers' policies.
    • Timely communication to AM using the ‘best practice’ method outlined by the AM.
    • Sell promotions as outlined in the Convenience Package/company technology and as directed by AM; report results to AM.
    • Build displays and place point-of-sale as directed.
    • Report low or out-of-stock issues to the Facility Manager.
    • Complete call reporting procedures via company technology while in store.
    • Perform other projects or requests as assigned by management.

Working Conditions

  • Build, install, and move various racks weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Build displays with up to 40 lb case weight.
  • Work in freezer environments at 0°F.
  • Travel for store resets lasting 1 to 3 days.
  • Occasional outside case lot sales and weekend special events.

Pay

Hourly rate: $17–$19 per hour.

Schedule

This is a part-time position requiring 8 hours per week. Hours are flexible, but the Base Manager must be available during store hours.

Requirements

  • Existing military base access strongly preferred; required to perform essential functions of the position.
  • Background in grocery and/or retail is extremely helpful.
  • Candidates not currently working for a competitor will be given preference.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening (EURPAC maintains a drug-free workplace).
