About the Role

The Leadership Talent Development Specialist supports the design, execution, and ongoing refinement of our Food Lion Leadership College Portfolio. This role ensures sessions are delivered consistently throughout the organization in support of our Brand, Strategy, and Culture. The specialist facilitates adult learning in leadership college sessions lasting one to four weeks and supports retail leaders in delivering the Retail Management Trainee (RMT) Program. Additionally, this role delivers adult learning modules regionally to retail leaders and their teams to support our overall talent development strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the consistent delivery of our Leadership College Portfolio, on time and on budget.
  • Facilitate adult learning in one-week to four-week long leadership college sessions.
  • Maintain a documented, replicable model for curriculum design, delivery, and facilitation.
  • Ensure curriculum remains aligned with our Brand, Strategy, and Culture, changing business practices, external benchmarks, best practices, and adult learning design.
  • Coordinate session scheduling and execution in partnership with divisional retail leadership teams.
  • Support business partners who deliver learning content to ensure consistent delivery and participant experience.
  • Accurately track and report Leadership College Portfolio expenses and manage P-card process for retail attendees not on Concur.
  • Support the design and delivery methodology to meet mission-critical leadership development needs.
  • Support the RMT program in partnership with Talent Acquisition (TA), Organizational Development (OD), and Retail Leadership.
  • RMT candidate onboarding and immersion into our Food Lion Brand, Strategy, and Culture.
  • Design and deliver year-one retail training rotation.
  • Provide retail leadership immersion and support to ensure retention and a consistent trainee experience.
  • Design and facilitate learning groups and team projects.
  • Oversee ongoing RMT talent planning and career progression to ensure ROI and associate retention, with a focus on defining a replicable model to attract and retain millennial talent in an inclusive, diverse, multigenerational workplace.
  • Collaborate with Diversity, Talent, OD, and Learning teams to design and deliver adult learning content to retail leaders, including modules on Uncovering Talent, Unconscious Bias, Emotional Intelligence, and CMP learning modules (formerly DAU courses).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in a Retail Management position.
  • General knowledge of and experience with Adult Learning Theory.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success as a highly performing Store Manager, Operations Initiative Specialist, Merchandising Specialist, or other key leadership position.
  • High school diploma required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.

This role requires 30% travel.
