Overview

The Retail Lead provides inventory and resource support for the Retail Areas of Dana Farber. Performs a variety of technical activities relating to the procurement of goods, materials, supplies and equipment. Maintains effective inventory controls and systems integrity. Provides education and product knowledge to patients, families and staff. This position will also support the department with workflow and allocation of resources within the group and act as a Lead when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Captures and coordinates all purchasing needs for patients, stock inventory, packaging and supplies.
  • Responsible for daily cash deposit for Retail area.
  • Responsible for ordering replenishment of core items, maintains a well maintained and inviting sales floor.
  • Maintains shop displays and updates to seasons and events.
  • Responsible for receiving of merchandise on a timely manner, and maintains compliance with fire and safety regulations.
  • Performs monthly inventory audits for designated area and annual inventory for entire Retail area.
  • Captures and coordinates all new vendor orders and secures proper documentation with Purchasing and administrative support.
  • Maintains the E-commerce site, including entering pertinent product information into our database, update existing product information, and write informative, captivating and fun product descriptions.
  • Functions as a content expert/resource leader in quality improvement/process improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Ensures quality care and adherence to standard operating procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Handles complex customer service and care issues.
  • May perform end-of-day deposit and financial related issues and schedule appoints to facilitate patient related issues.

Qualifications

  • The position requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of retail experience are preferred, along with experience working with cancer patients and the rehabilitation process.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises technicians and other staff related to customer service issues. Assists in the training and mentoring of staff. May provide workflow direction to students and volunteers.
