Retail General Manager Midlothian

About the role

The General Manager at Office Depot Office Max is responsible for growing total sales and services within the location. They own and drive the overall customer experience and sales service culture, manage sales performance, identify sales opportunities, develop store strategies, and ensure maximum sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Owns and leads the customer experience and sales service culture within the location
• Develops overall store strategies and tactics to achieve sales results and operational goals
• Increase conversation rates and drive customer traffic into stores
• Ensure maximum sales and profitability by focusing on key business initiatives
• Manages and develops associates, identifies and develops top talent, and plans for succession
• Provides positive and constructive feedback, and appropriate coaching and counseling
• Leads, motivates, and inspires associates to create a customer/client first environment
• Engages with the local community and hosts in-store events with small and medium businesses (SMB)
• Hires, merchandises, operates stores, resolves associate and customer relations concerns, and partners with business partners
• Manages performance of all associates and fosters a positive and inclusive workplace environment
• Initiates and supports company changes as a Change Champion

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or another related field
• Minimum two to four years management experience or demonstration of skills and learning through an internal development program
• Good business acumen
• Ability to lead, coach, and manage others in a professional environment
• Positive influence at all levels and executive presence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to plan, prioritize, and execute detailed instructions in a timely and efficient manner
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to work independently and with others
• Sound judgment and people management abilities
• Able to adapt to a changing environment and consistently achieve goals despite stress and ambiguity
• Able to use computers and technology for information processing and accessing necessary information for the job
• Able to use POS register system for processing information and merchandise
