At Office Depot, the Retail Store Supervisor role is a full-time position focused on providing comprehensive solutions to customers across Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print offerings. This role involves building and maintaining customer relationships to establish trust and become their go-to advisor on Technology products, services, and print solutions. The Store Supervisor demonstrates passion for the brand and effectively utilizes Office Depot’s sales principles to drive sales and engage customers proactively.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture that builds trust, brand loyalty, and exceptional client service delivery.
  • Utilize the selling program to promote the best solutions, including additional products and services.
  • Maintain awareness of planned advertisements and promotions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by educating customers about Office Depot products and services.
  • Evaluate customer needs to determine the total solution.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and ongoing training to store associates, including Print Services associates.
  • Facilitate training sessions on the business model and holistic service offerings.
  • Observe, coach, and provide feedback to enhance associate proficiency and build a culture of trust.
  • Process merchandise accurately and efficiently, adhering to established procedures and visual merchandising standards.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
  • Ensure regular loss prevention compliance and assist the General Manager in coaching associates for improved performance.
  • Contribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Maintain the safety and security of the building and associates during the absence of other managers.
  • Perform opening and closing responsibilities, including alarm system activation/deactivation, cash handling, and daily store balancing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; coursework in Business, Retail Management, or related field a plus.
  • 1–3 years of related experience; retail, sales, customer-facing, and/or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in Technology and Print, including use of relevant equipment and POS systems.
  • Strong selling, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and train others; works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable using technology and systems to complete daily responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving, conflict management, time management, and business acumen.
  • Drives for results, directs others effectively, makes sound decisions, and collaborates well.
  • Adaptable, accountable, and able to maintain open availability, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Ability to perform External Key Carrier responsibilities, including opening and closing the store.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $10.20 to $16.94 per hour, with adjustments to comply with all state and local minimum wage requirements.

Schedule

Flexible schedule aligned with business needs, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
