About the role

We are seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial Retail Food Service Manager who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and continuously improving operations. This role oversees a dynamic retail dining program with $1.2 million in annual retail sales across two café locations, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and a highly engaged team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day retail and café operations across two locations
• Lead all aspects of staff management, including recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management
• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, reporting, and expense control
• Monitor market trends and customer preferences to enhance the guest experience and drive sales
• Implement and maintain effective cost-control measures and operational efficiencies
• Ensure compliance with sanitation, food safety, health, and regulatory standards
• Manage purchasing activities and inventory levels to support operational needs
• Partner with culinary and marketing teams to launch new menu offerings and retail programs
• Coordinate and oversee special events, promotions, and catering initiatives
• Serve as the primary liaison between operations and the client, fostering strong relationships and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

• Culinary degree preferred, or Associate's degree with relevant food service management experience
• Minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience in food service operations
• Experience in healthcare, senior living, retirement communities, or related environments preferred
• Strong knowledge of retail dining, food service, catering operations, quality standards, food production, sanitation practices, and food cost management
• Proven leadership, team development, and coaching abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, internet applications, and other business systems
• Current ServSafe® Certification preferred
