About the role
The Retail Department Manager at Ollie's is responsible for growing department sales to achieve the store's sales plan. This role involves aspects of merchandising, customer service, and store maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Greet and acknowledge every customer with Ollie's "Yes I Care, Yes I Can" approach to build long-term customer loyalty.
- Ensure that all product within the department is merchandised and recovered per the visual merchandise standards.
- Be knowledgeable of current promotions and advertisements to answer customer questions and drive sales.
- Support Ollie’s Army and other donation programs year-round.
- Aid in receiving the truck, pricing items, training new Associates, and accurately and efficiently operating the register.
- Maintain the store appearance and complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- At least 6 months of retail experience is preferred.
- A positive attitude and team player who interacts well with customers and associates.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a safe manner.
