Retail Customer Service Associate
About the Role
The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience by utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. This role is knowledgeable in all areas of the Store’s business, including print, signs & graphics, and shipping. Responsibilities include taking orders, coordinating store activities, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate FedEx Office products and services.
Responsibilities
- Follow instructions from supervisors and assist team members in performing store functions, including training new team members.
- Demonstrate consultative behaviors to understand each customer’s individualized needs and recommend appropriate FedEx Office products and services.
- Provide expertise in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines to ensure an outstanding customer service experience.
- Resolve customer problems quickly and to their satisfaction.
- Take complex customer orders using order systems and provide accurate pricing information.
- Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping, including wrapping, weighing, and labeling packages.
- Set up and operate printing, binding, and related equipment using customer-supplied materials.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly retail store, including handling confidential customer data and managing documents and packages.
- Process financial transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) terminal, including handling cash and making change.
- Clean, repair, and stock all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to ensure optimal performance.
- Stay current on retail store merchandising materials and ensure proper display of products and signage.
- Take preemptive action to prevent errors and waste, and complete required financial paperwork, including daily sales and bank deposits.
- Adhere to FedEx Office standard operating procedures, as well as legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies.
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and look for opportunities to improve knowledge and skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- 6+ months of specialized experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Essential Functions
- Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods.
- Ability to move and lift 55 pounds.

Pay
This compensation range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role: $19.70 - $23.17 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by experience, market level, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Employees may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential.
