About the role

As a Retail Construction Project Manager at JLL, you'll be at the forefront of transforming retail banking environments, leading the complete lifecycle of branch renovations, ATM installations, and facility upgrades. This dynamic role places you at the intersection of construction expertise and client relationship management, where you'll orchestrate multiple concurrent projects from initial concept through final closeout.

You'll serve as the trusted advisor to financial services clients, balancing their need for speed-to-market with rigorous quality standards and regulatory compliance. Your technical acumen, scheduling prowess, and ability to coordinate diverse stakeholder groups—from architects and contractors to client executives and regulatory bodies—will directly impact how financial institutions serve their communities.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will involve managing 8-15 simultaneous projects across various phases, including branch renovations, ATM installations, decommissions, ADA upgrades, security implementations, and signage programs. You'll navigate each project from initiation through financial closeout while coordinating design development, permitting, construction execution, and commissioning activities across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Portfolio Management & Project Coordination: managing multiple projects and coordinating design development, permitting, construction execution, and commissioning activities
  • Financial Stewardship & Budget Control: developing comprehensive project budgets, tracking expenditures, and providing regular financial status reports
  • Schedule Development & Critical Path Management: creating and maintaining master schedules, monitoring performance against milestones, and implementing recovery strategies
  • Client Relationship Management & Strategic Communication: building trusted partnerships with clients and facilitating transparent communication between internal teams and external vendors
  • Vendor Management & Quality Assurance: preparing RFPs, leading competitive selection processes, and overseeing contractor performance
  • Design Phase Leadership & Regulatory Compliance: guiding clients through conceptual development, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases
  • Documentation & Risk Management: preparing comprehensive project documentation and developing risk management plans

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven Project Management Track Record: 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing design and construction projects
  • Technical Construction Knowledge: strong working knowledge of architectural drawings, building systems, construction methods, and space planning principles
  • Financial Acumen & Analytical Capabilities: proven experience developing detailed project scopes, budgets, and schedules
  • Exceptional Communication & Stakeholder Management: excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with C-level clients, senior management, and external partners

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Educational Foundation & Professional Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline, and professional certification such as PMP or CCM
  • Software Proficiency & Digital Tools: advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software
  • Regulatory & Code Expertise: understanding of permitting processes, building codes, ADA accessibility requirements, and regulatory compliance frameworks applicable to commercial banking facilities
  • Multi-Project Management Capabilities: demonstrated capacity to prioritize and manage competing demands across 10+ concurrent projects
  • Leadership & Mentorship Experience: track record of leading cross-functional project teams and coordinating activities among diverse stakeholder groups
  • Construction Administration Experience: practical experience with submittal review processes, RFI management, construction observation, punch list development, and project closeout procedures

Location and Schedule

This is a hybrid position located in Plano, TX, requiring two days per week onsite.
