What’s a Typical Day as Construction Project Manager?
- Leading project teams to deliver new store construction and renovation projects efficiently, on budget, and in compliance with company standards and local regulations
- Providing clear direction, daily scheduling, follow-up, feedback, and performance evaluations to project team members
- Establishing and implementing Construction Management Systems to monitor and manage active projects
- Developing, reviewing, and updating comprehensive project plans, specifications, and budgets
- Researching and recommending materials, equipment, and tools to meet operational needs
- Supervising multiple project teams, ensuring quality, compliance, and adherence to timelines and budgets
- Collaborating with designers, engineers, contractors, landlords, and local authorities for successful project delivery
- Negotiating vendor contracts and agreements, ensuring proper financial tracking and documentation
- Traveling frequently across the U.S. to oversee new store developments and renovations
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in retail or supermarket environments
Proven experience in design, architecture, construction, maintenance, and renovations
Strong technical and mechanical understanding
Excellent supervisory, interpersonal, and leadership abilities
Organizational and time management skills, performing well under pressure and tight deadlines
Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus
Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the U.S. as required
