About the Role
The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. This individual will build and repair bicycles according to established procedures, leveraging personal experience and industry research to offer strong product recommendations tailored to customer needs.
Create a world-class customer experience through passionate service and engagement, particularly in the Bike Department, while upholding company standards for merchandise presentation and customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Build and repair bicycles in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed.
- Provide product recommendations and sell bikes and related merchandise to achieve sales goals.
- Maintain merchandise presentation and signage standards in the Bike Department.
- Promote company programs, including warranty sales, loyalty programs, private-label credit cards, and seasonal promotions.
- Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
- Support the store team with an all-hands-on-deck approach.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Prior experience building, repairing, and selling bicycles preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs. occasionally (up to 5 times per hour).
- Ability to work extended periods (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
