About the role
This person will provide a superior service experience to all guests of FBT, meeting and resolving transactional needs in a timely and efficient manner while remaining guest-aware. The role involves developing and maintaining client relationships, proactively recognizing opportunities, and offering solutions with a people-first approach.
Responsibilities
- Provide a superior service experience that satisfies guests’ wants and needs while reflecting First Bank & Trust’s culture and community commitment.
- Develop, maintain, and grow profitable client relationships while minimizing risk; a general understanding of sales is beneficial.
- Perform general teller functions, including processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, and negotiable items.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer daily and remain risk-aware by reporting suspicious transactions promptly.
- Assist in the daily servicing of branch hardware, such as ATMs and TCRs.
- Anticipate client needs and advise on solutions that personally benefit them.
- Assist in opening new accounts and establishing new client relationships.
- Educate clients on the bank’s products, services, and processes to meet their needs and those of the community.
- Proactively seek direction from the Retail Banking Supervisor and/or Retail Branch Manager to align daily work with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Retail business line to meet client needs.
- Monitor and maintain deposit and credit portfolios for quality and potential risk.
- Follow through on collection efforts using legal means as required by Loan Policy and Guidelines when necessary.
- Act in accordance with FBT policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required compliance training and meetings.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent.

- Strong communication skills, including excellent verbal and written correspondence, effective listening, and responsiveness.
- Genuinely personable, empathetic, collaborative, and solution-driven problem solver.
Compensation Grade: Hourly Grade 3
