About the Role

As a Retail Associate, you’ll play a key role in our mission to empower and prepare people for independence through training, personal growth, and work. Every day brings something different, from assisting customers and operating the cash register to maintaining the sales floor and processing donations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the cash register, provide correct change, and bag purchases
  • Process credit card transactions following established procedures
  • Monitor for illegal activity and alert management
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor and fitting rooms
  • Sort, hang, tag, and price clothing donations according to guidelines
  • Pull items for the sales floor following established procedures
  • Meet production standards for processing donations
  • Assist donors with unloading donations and issue tax receipts
  • Provide professional customer service at all times
  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

To promote customer and donor satisfaction, employees who interact with the public must maintain a positive outlook and demonstrate a pleasant, courteous, and helpful demeanor.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three months of work experience
  • Ability to operate a POS terminal and make change
  • Basic literacy to complete forms
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 20 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally, and 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Friendly and customer-focused attitude

Schedule

Assigned rotation allows for predictable scheduling, including weekends and evenings as needed.

  • Ability to work within a team environment

  • Physical Activities:
    • Substantial: vision, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, and walking

    • Nominal: crawling, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive motions
  • Physical Requirements: Heavy work involving pushing and pulling up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds occasionally, and 20 pounds frequently. Ability to fully perform lifting and moving duties is mandatory.
  • Environmental Conditions: Indoor environment.
