About the Role

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will partner with the Store Manager to develop outstanding associates, deliver exceptional and consistent customer experiences, and positively impact growth across Bath & Body Works. Store leaders are retail and customer-savvy, dedicated brand ambassadors who thrive on connecting with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
  • Set and reinforce clear performance expectations, results goals, and accountability with all associates.
  • Act as Manager on Duty to address customer experience, vendor relationship, or maintenance issues.
  • Partner with the Sales Leadership Team to support action plans that improve results and ensure effective execution of operational activities.
  • Implement and sustain floorset direction to optimize the business and bring the product story to life.
  • Perform opening and closing routines including bank deposits, receipt of shipment, and dissemination of company directives.
  • Set daily/shift direction and goals for associates.
  • Provide individual and team performance feedback and recommendations to managers.
  • Meet payroll targets by ensuring appropriate sales floor coverage and maintaining a selling focus.
  • Lead exceptional in-store customer experiences through demonstrating and modeling selling behaviors and elevated product knowledge.
  • Create genuine connections with customers by uncovering needs, sharing product information, demoing products, and making personalized recommendations.
  • Train, coach, reward, and motivate associates to improve selling and the customer experience.
  • Reinforce selling expectations, performance, results, and accountability with all associates.
  • Maintain the visual appearance of the store, including climbing ladders, lifting, reaching, bending, and kneeling to obtain products.
  • Consistently lift 10 pounds and up to 50 pounds.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and expectations to provide a safe, clean, and engaging experience.
  • Maintain company values, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering sales, customer experience, and operational results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in a manager role, preferably in a retail setting.
  • Ability to thrive in a customer-first retail environment.
  • Effective communication skills, openness to feedback, and adaptability.
  • Ability to provide in-the-moment coaching to associates.
  • Ability to de-escalate store and customer situations effectively.
  • Availability to work peak days and times, including varied shifts of evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma, GED certificate, or relevant work experience.
