About the role
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) seeks an Assistant Store Manager to join the dedicated Retail Team at its Phoenix Main Thrift Store. Responsibilities
- Taking an active role and partnering with the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store.
- Providing coaching, training, and development to the Store Employees.
- Maintaining good Customer/Donor/Community relations; resolving complaints; and ensuring quick and efficient service.
- Communicating personnel issues with Management, in absence of the Store Manager.
- Issuing disciplinary warnings, conference reports, employee evaluations, and setting goals as needed.
- Maintaining store at ARC Merchandising Standards, ensuring adequate inventory levels.
- In absence of the Store Manager, managing BRP (Back Room Processing).
- Ensuring store is maintained according to ARCC policy and government regulations.
- Implementing appropriate loss prevention measures.
- Assisting the Store Manager on establishing and maintaining safety measures.
- Performing other written or verbal duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ previous Retail Management/Supervisory experience.
- Accurate handling of POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
- Valid Driver’s license with proof of insurance.
- Pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to move product up to 50lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule
Stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by Management and associates must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full-time associates may be scheduled to work any full-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
