About the role

As an Assistant Store Manager, you provide support and assistance to the Store Manager in all areas of store operations.

Responsibilities

• Initiate the interview process by reviewing applications and scheduling employees
• Assist in appraising performance and making recommendations for disciplinary action
• Direct, supervise, and train retail staff in daily duties related to donations, processing, and sales
• Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently
• Perform opening and closing procedures, including banking procedures and daily reconciliation
• Make nightly cash deposits as needed
• Complete detailed reports such as donation counts, readings, daily business statements, deposits, and cash drawer balances
• Conduct monthly store audits

Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic mathematical skills
• Previous supervisory and training experience in customer service, preferably in retail or food service
• Knowledge of cash register procedures, stock control, banking procedures, merchandising, and display

Schedule

Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required, with a minimum of two closing shifts per week.
