We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management or 3rd key experience. This role partners with the Store Manager to lead day-to-day store operations, develop employees, maximize financial goals, and ensure a customer-centric environment. The position offers an hourly wage plus commission and bonuses based on productivity and store performance.

Pay

$13.00 to $17.00 per hour, plus commission up to 8% on transactions (average additional $7.96 per hour). Assistant Store Managers can earn 2-8% commission based on gross profit from personal performance. Actual pay depends on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Schedule

  • Most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many are closed on Sundays.
  • Flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • 40+ hours per week; hours are not guaranteed and depend on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues rapidly.
  • Train and develop Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, and following asset protection procedures.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer store processes, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, and enterprise-level reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development.
  • Communicate store mission and profit objectives clearly to employees.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six months of management or 3rd key experience.
  • Willingness and ability to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others effectively.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • Willingness to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.
  • Minimum age: 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Computer literacy and ability to operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
