Retail Assistant Manager

About the Role

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented Assistant Store Manager to join our team. This position supports store operations in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rewarding environment, helping to further our mission of empowering people to increase dignity and independence through employment. Our retail operation fuels programs and services across the Kentucky Bluegrass while providing job opportunities to individuals facing limited options.

Responsibilities

• Assumes management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assists the Store Manager in ordering merchandise, record-keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits), and receipts.
• Supervises, trains, and develops Store Associates on Goodwill of Kentucky operating practices and procedures under the direction of the Store Manager.
• Maintains a positive shopping experience by providing excellent customer service and ensuring a well-stocked store.
• Supports the Store Manager in loss prevention efforts.
• Follows all Company policies and procedures.
• Occasional driving (personal car) to another retail location.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in a Business-related field preferred.
• Retail experience required; supervisory experience helpful.
• Prior management experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license preferred; must have valid insurance on any vehicle used for business purposes.
• Ability to manage long periods of standing, recurring bending/crouching/reaching/stooping, and lifting up to 30 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving, including placing products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelving at various heights.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Sunday: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
