About the Role

CoxHealth is a leading healthcare system serving 25 counties across southwest Missouri and northern Arkansas. The organization includes six hospitals, five ERs, and over 80 clinics.

Responsibilities

• Implements a program prescribed by a licensed therapist (physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist).
• Completes ambulation, transfers, range of motion, activities of daily living (ADL) skill practice, as well as other functions prescribed by the supervising therapist.
• Serves patients from adolescent through the geriatric age range in all units at Cox South.
• This program is only available in acute care therapy at Cox South and is provided as a support to patients and nursing units but is not a billable service.

Requirements

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience as a therapy tech or nursing assistant is preferred

Qualifications

• Preferred: Undergraduate degree in therapy related program, nursing assistant certification, or therapy degree from an international program that does not transfer to US.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills, human relations skills and organizational skills required.
• A positive attitude and superior customer service abilities.
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, seeking assistance from supervising therapist as indicated.
