Restorative Nurse Aide

Responsibilities

• Performs programs on all identified residents.
• To include but not limited to: Range of motion (passive/active), General strengthening exercises, Ambulation and transfer training, ADL’s, Nursing whirlpools as assigned, Placement of restorative devices and equipment, Positioning, Restorative feeding program.
• Documents daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.
• Notifies restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy department of problems, referrals or reassessments needed.
• Reports to the Director of Nursing and charts significant change in resident’s condition or motivational level.
• Reinforces team management of B/B program and works with nurse aides on B/B procedures.
• Attends meetings and in-services as required.
• Serves as a resident advocate at all times.
• Motivates others.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
• Good communication skills with the ability to read and write the English language.
• Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
• Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
• A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.
