About the role
The Restaurant Manager will oversee all aspects of the restaurant, directing and maintaining a service and management philosophy that emphasizes quality customer service. This role involves training employees, planning and assigning work, appraising performance, and addressing complaints or problems. The manager ensures compliance with daily operational procedures, maintains food and beverage safety and quality, and establishes standards for operations and safe working conditions.
Responsibilities include handling guest-related issues, ensuring communication with the General Manager and other departments, and managing employee performance to maintain productivity and a quality work environment.

- Train, plan, assign, and direct work for restaurant staff.
- Appraise employee performance; reward and discipline employees as needed.
- Address complaints and resolve problems.
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
- Ensure compliance with daily operational procedures for the Food and Beverage Department.
- Maintain food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications.
- Establish, maintain, and train staff on operational standards and safe working conditions.
- Respond to and handle guest-related issues pertaining to the department.
- Ensure communication with the General Manager, other Department Managers, Supervisors, and Staff.
- Manage all aspects of employee performance to ensure productivity and a quality work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in the Restaurant/Food and Beverage field.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests, management, and co-workers.
- High school graduate or equivalent; some college preferred.
- ServSafe and/or food safety training certification.
- Alcohol awareness training (such as TIPS).
- Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations and use of measurement tools.
- Experience in preparing budgets and ensuring cost controls.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.
