Restaurant Manager

About the role

The Restaurant Manager sets the tone for Sonesta’s Culture of Caring, focusing on creating amazing moments for guests and team members and finding ways to create success for their team. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for directing and managing all aspects of the restaurant's day-to-day operations, promoting and implementing property-wide strategies to increase guest satisfaction, reduce employee turnover, maintain revenue and payroll budgets, and meet productivity goals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan, prepare, and execute food and beverage to the highest standards in food and beverage outlets and functions within the hotel.
• Follow up on guest feedback.
• Assist in hiring, training, promotion, and firing of all restaurant employees.
• Ensure all Sonesta safety and sanitation standards are adhered to, including local liquor and food safety regulations.
• Have thorough knowledge of all food and beverage offerings and coordinate with the Chef on daily menus and educate the team.
• Visibly work the floor to ensure flawless execution.
• Inspect rooms and tables for proper set-up and cleanliness.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
• Ensure all closing duties for staff are completed before staff sign out.
• Perform other duties and projects as requested by management.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience as a restaurant manager.
• Strong knowledge of front and back of house operations, including food, beverages, staff supervision, inventory, and food safety.
• Strong understanding of cost and labor systems that lead to restaurant profitability.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue, and forecasting.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business management or hospitality management highly preferred.

Pay

The pay range is $70,000 - $80,000, and the position is eligible for a bonus. The base pay offered may vary based on various factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and specific/overall experience.
