About the Role

With limited supervision, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) functions in a restaurant. This role ensures adherence to company standards, delivers an exceptional customer experience, and provides professional leadership and direction for employees. All new managers will go through an extensive Manager in Training (MIT) program, combining this with your previous experience to set you up for success as a top-notch leader within the Outback family.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the success of the restaurant’s operations in both FOH and BOH.
  • Leads and mentors a team, creating an enjoyable work environment.
  • Optimizes profits through effective labor management and control of food and beverage costs via proper ordering and inventory practices.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Increases customer satisfaction by maintaining high standards of service.
  • Drives business growth through sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Recruits new talent to fill future staff openings.
  • Ensures safe food handling, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Maintains food quality with proper safety equipment, tools, and adherence to recipe specifications.
  • Ensures each dish meets standards for taste, temperature, and presentation.
  • Maintains an organized, clean, and orderly restaurant with immaculate standards.

Requirements

  • Proven management experience (2+ years) in a restaurant supporting large teams; full-service experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in a leadership role.
  • Flexibility to work at other locations in the region when needed.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Highly proficient in English verbal, reading, and writing communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to work in hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and stooping.
  • Manual dexterity to handle glassware, utensils, and technology systems.
  • Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Visual ability including distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus; ability to work in areas with low or dim lighting.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • For California-based positions: Responsible Beverage Service Certification required (can be completed during training, up to 60 days after start date).
