Restaurant Manager

About the role
As a Restaurant Manager, you’ll help oversee a multi-faceted high-volume full-service restaurant with a retail component and Wine Club program. You’ll execute exceptional operations during shift execution, from the food served in our scratch kitchen to the guest service provided in our restaurant. You’ll provide leadership and development to management and hourly team members while partnering closely with the General Manager to achieve restaurant goals and build the Wine Club Community.
Responsibilities
- Oversee 1-2 departments including food runners, host, porters, and/or bar
- Adhere to policies and manage assigned operating systems
- Ensure collaboration between kitchen and front-of-house operations
- Represent company values and create a respectful, cohesive work environment
- Manage people by:
- Participating in hourly team member hiring
- Training and verifying team members adhere to Cooper’s Hawk standards
- Maintaining and updating weekly schedules
- Leading community and/or department meetings and coaching team members
- Maximize financial and operational results and conduct weekly inventory for assigned departments
- Build and maintain the Wine Club Community by ensuring front-of-house team members have the training and resources to educate guests about the wine club program and invite them to join
- Effectively operate computer systems including POS, online team member scheduler, inventory/ordering software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment, including food safety
- Maintain a professional image by adhering to guidelines in the Team Member Handbook
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a full-service restaurant (scratch kitchen experience preferred)
- Minimum age requirement of 21 years
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Results-driven; able to coach team to hit restaurant targets (e.g., Wine Club Community growth)
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English
- Demonstrates financial acumen
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Preferred certifications include ServSafe and state/local licensing requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
- Must be able to stand for at least 10 hours per shift
- Must be able to work 50-60 hours per week
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and some holidays
