Job Summary

Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center is a full-service meetings and resort destination located in the heart of the premier sports and entertainment district. The position oversees restaurant activities in the absence of the Manager, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Controls Reservation Book, accepts reservations and enters them accurately into the record
• Maintains guest history files and uses information to enhance repeat guests' experience
• Sets up work stations and pre-meal side work, inspects dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks prior to meal start
• Records guest arrival, covers, seat assignments, turnovers, and availability
• Inspects menus for cleanliness and acceptability
• Greets guests politely and professionally, assigns seats, and presents menus
• Removes unnecessary place settings at occupied tables, notifies servers of guest seating, and communicates special needs or requests
• Monitors dining room activity, assists servers and assistants as needed, and ensures performance to standard
• Assigns post-meal side work, inspects dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks
• Promotes teamwork and applies teamwork skills at all times
• Notifies appropriate individuals promptly and fully of problems and unusual matters
• Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and fellow team members
• Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
• Complies with safety regulations and hotel policies
• Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
• Remains current with hotel information and changes
• Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
• Knowledge of food service operations and safety regulations
