Restaurant Host (Chaz on the Plaza - nights)

About the role

The Host at Chaz on the Plaza is responsible for greeting guests as they enter the restaurant, seating them appropriately, and assisting the servers in providing attentive, courteous service to guests throughout their dining experience. The Host also assists the cashier in the collection of payment for all guest transactions.

Responsibilities

• Approach all guests and employees with a smile.
• Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner.
• Be attentive to guests' needs and assist in providing a pleasant dining experience.
• Assist cashier in collection of money or credit cards from guests and servers as needed.
• Ensure quality control of menus with regard to cleanliness and appearance.
• Know how to prepare cashier report at the end of the shift.
• Pay out servers' and service attendants' tips if appropriate.
• Answer the telephone according to standards.
• Have a thorough knowledge of menus and specials in the restaurant.
• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• English fluency required.
• Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
• Certification of previous training in liquor, wine, and food service a plus.
• Ability to input and access information in computers.
• Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Willing and able to stand/walk for entire shift if needed.
• Possess basic reading, writing, and math skills.
