About the role
As a Restaurant Host, you will greet and seat guests in the restaurant, ensuring a warm, friendly, and efficient welcome to start their dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcome each guest genuinely and seat them as quickly as possible.
- Converse with guests in a friendly, hospitable, and informative manner.
- Use a rotation method to ensure fair seating distribution.
- Report to work on time and in proper uniform/approved attire.
- Work collaboratively with all hotel team members.
- Maintain cleanliness of the greeter station and front of the restaurant.
- Check tables to ensure they are set up and ready for guests.
- Communicate seating updates to servers and assist them as needed.
- Have knowledge of all hotel areas, including private dining rooms.
- Monitor and assist with the flow of private dining rooms.
- Detail tables by removing unused items and extra place settings.
- Attend monthly department meetings and daily stand-ups.
- Perform other duties as requested by management to enhance guest service.
- Use POS systems (MICROS) and Yelp reservation system.
- Assist managers with daily duties, including station scheduling.
- Follow procedures outlined in the training manual.
Requirements
- High School diploma or higher.
- Previous hospitality experience preferred; at least one year in a host position in the Macon, GA area is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to use technology, such as tablets and iPads.
- Ability to assist with menu revisions when needed.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. or more.
- Corrected vision to normal range.
- Long hours may be required.

Note: The hotel operates 24/7, and employees may be required to work varying shifts based on business needs. A hospitable service atmosphere must be maintained at all times.
