Restaurant General Manager

Overview

The Restaurant Manager at The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa is responsible for delivering prompt, courteous service in compliance with Omni Food and Beverage standards and company policies and procedures. They lead a team of associates to provide memorable experiences to both guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Complete environmental checklist for dining room
• Spot check liquor pars
• Order daily supplies
• Hold pre-meal meetings
• Follow up on established training steps
• Handle guest comments and complaints and ensure guest satisfaction
• Stay on the floor during peak hours
• Communicate with guests and receive feedback
• Observe, teach, and elevate staff’s service
• Maintain condition of dining room
• Schedule, complete weekly payroll, and forecast both weekly and monthly
• Participate in interviewing new employees as needed
• Prepare maintenance requests and follow-up
• Monitor food and liquor requisitions and food waste
• Check bar controls, shot glass use, red lining, and bottles totally empty daily
• Must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws
• Must know emergency procedures and work to prevent accidents

Qualifications

• 4 years+ leadership experience in a Restaurant General Manager role is highly preferred
• Experience working in a sports bar is required
• Must have previous experience in a busy, fast-paced working environment
• Must have the ability to manage deadlines and support a team
• Understanding of Food and Beverage financials including cost and par controls is required
• General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail as well as strong customer service skills
• Must have understanding of beer, wine, and cocktail beverage creation knowledge
• Must have unexpired Food Handlers and TABC – or obtain upon hire
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
• Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects of moderate weight without assistance
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors
