About the role

The Tavern at Heathman is a local gathering place that offers Pacific Northwest inspired cuisine using fresh, seasonal ingredients and local partnerships. It caters to pre-theater dinners, business gatherings, and leisurely weekend brunches.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of daily restaurant operations (front-of-house and back-of-house)
  • Hiring, training, mentoring, and leading team members and department leaders
  • Establishing and maintaining service, appearance, and operational standards
  • Collaborating with the Executive Chef on menu development, product consistency, and training
  • Monitoring budgets, payroll, inventory, and financial performance
  • Developing strategies to increase revenue and enhance reputation
  • Engaging with guests to build relationships and gather feedback
  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and company policies

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Restaurant General Manager
  • Comprehensive knowledge of both front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with payroll, budgeting, revenue management, and forecasting
  • Excellent communication skills; professional, personable, and service-driven
  • Proper health and safety certifications required
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Able to use hands to serve and clear food, beverages, and tableware
  • Able to bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to smell and taste food and beverages to ensure quality standards
