Host Activities and Guest Interaction

Welcomes new Guests as they arrive and shows them to their seats. Describes features, soup of the day, etc.

Checks out Guests at the register. Asks, “How was your meal and service?” Thanks Guests and invites them to return.

Moves through the dining room regularly to ensure Guests have all items needed. Attentively serves Guests to make them feel special.

Sells bakery items. Efficiently packages to-go orders.

Cleans cashier area, bakery cases and displays, lobby area, entryway and Guest restrooms and dining room throughout the shift.

  • Aids Servers with pre-bussing procedures
  • Sweeps floor around tables
  • Performs side work during shift downtime
  • Assists Servers and Bus Persons
  • Ensures 100% guest satisfaction
  • Communicates with Manager on Duty and coworkers
  • Keeps GM and Manager on Duty informed of problems and/or issues

Requirements

  • Extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to see at a distance (20 feet), at close range (12 inches), distinguish between shapes, and utilize peripheral vision to avoid hazards
  • Must be able to communicate clearly
  • Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold
  • Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2 ½ - 3 feet
  • Mobility/flexibility in space provided
  • Time management skills
  • Read, write, perform addition/subtraction calculations
  • Control and utilize fingers to write, slice, chop, and operate equipment
  • Fits through openings 30” wide
  • Works irregular hours under heavy pressure/stress during busy times
  • Bending, reaching, walking
  • Carries trays of food products weighing about 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet
  • Lifts up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of basic kitchen and food service operations
