About the role

The Restaurant Assistant General Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the seamless daily operation of the restaurant while delivering the exceptional dining experience that defines the Live! brand. Your ability to support strategic planning, guide and develop team members, uphold service and quality standards, and maintain operational efficiency directly contributes to the restaurant’s success. Through strong partnership with the Director of Food & Beverage, a commitment to excellence, and hands‑on leadership, you help create a welcoming environment where guests enjoy memorable visits and team members can perform at their best.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the business plan and budget for the restaurant.
  • Adhere to, implement, and enforce all department and company policies.
  • Supervise, train, and develop managers and hourly staff, including interviewing, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain open communication across all department personnel.
  • Ensure quality control, consistency, and timeliness of food and beverage service, including alcohol service.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls for labor, food, and beverages.
  • Achieve budgeted revenues, control expenses, and maximize profitability across all food and beverage outlets.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, liquor laws, and all federal and state gaming regulations.
  • Maintain company operating standards and demonstrate professionalism aligned with brand values.
  • Respond to guest needs, feedback, and issues to enhance guest experience and drive future business.
  • Manage staffing levels to align with budgeted labor and operational needs; delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Develop and manage business plans, budgets, and operational processes for the restaurant.
  • Monitor and reduce workplace injuries through safety programs and process improvements.
  • Oversee the use of complimentaries in accordance with property comp matrix guidelines.
  • Collaborate with directors, managers, and leadership to review departmental performance and operations.
  • Support initiatives that enhance the overall gaming and entertainment experience for guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Preferred, a four (4)-year degree in related fields or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred, five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in restaurant management and supervision.
  • Must be Serv-Safe and RAMP certified.
  • Must have full working knowledge of POS.
  • Must have knowledge of approved Responsible Gaming Program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license as determined by the Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Commission for the position and an Alcohol Beverage Control card and any applicable health certificates.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning.
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach while carrying food product, equipment, trash/waste weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work around 500 degree ovens and work within 40 degree walk-in refrigerators.

Working Conditions

  • 24/7 high energy casino with over 300,000 sq. ft of gaming and entertainment space and approximately 3000 employees.
  • Exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises.
  • You will work in an environment where smoking is allowed.
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible with work schedule.
  • May require extended hours and work week from time to time.
