About the role
The Restaurant Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for assisting the General Manager in the overall operations of the restaurant, including but not limited to, customer service, employee management, financial management, inventory management and maintaining the overall appearance of the restaurant. The AGM will work closely with the General Manager to ensure that all policies and procedures are followed and that the restaurant is operating at maximum efficiency. The AGM will also be responsible for managing the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager.Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations
- Manage staff schedules and conduct performance evaluations
- Oversee financial management, including budgeting and reporting
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
- Oversee inventory management and procurement
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the restaurant
- Work closely with the General Manager in managing the restaurant during their absence
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in restaurant management or a similar field
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop employees
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food service operations and management
- Understanding of financial management principles
- Experience with inventory management systems
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
