• 1963: McElroy Metal founded by Thomas E. McElroy Sr. (Mr. Mac)
• 1975: Tem McElroy becomes 2nd generation president
• 1976: First satellite manufacturing facility in Clinton, IL
• 1983: Acquired Angle Steel and built new manufacturing location in Marshall, MI
• 1985: First Metal Mart opened
• 1990: Became a national company with 6 manufacturing facilities
• 2007: Ian McElroy becomes 3rd generation president
• 2009: Acquired Components Plus, Inc., and Met-Tile
• 2012: Joint venture with Green Span Profiles to manufacture Insulated Metal Panels (IMP)
• 2013: Installed 500 kW solar system in Peachtree City, GA
• 2018: Diamond, MO became home to 13th manufacturing facility
• 2021: Added solar panels to Sunnyvale, TX
• 2022: Construction of 14th manufacturing facility in Lockart, TX announced
• 2022: McElroy Metal becomes an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
