Rest Area Attendant

About the Role

This position is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of a rest area facility under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Mow grass, trim hedges, and water flowers, shrubs, etc. daily.
• Clean and service restrooms, sewage disposal systems, and water treatment facilities.
• Clean up the general area.
• Load, unload, and stack bags of salt, sand, cement, chemicals, etc.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions.
• Familiarity with plumbing and electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to:
  • Converse with the general public.
  • Understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language.
  • Respond to official inquiries.
  • Make entries on reports and records.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check to determine suitability for employment.

This position does not require theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge or a bachelor’s degree or higher in the field; thus, it is not eligible for H-1B visa sponsorship.
