RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUAL - CHILDREN'S HOMES

Location: Berkshire and Surrey (homes across both counties)

Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 (dependent on experience)

Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week

About the role

As Responsible Individual, you will hold Ofsted responsibility for the quality of care, compliance, and outcomes across all homes. Key duties include:

• Support, supervise, and develop Registered Managers, holding them to account for practice standards.
• Lead on Ofsted registration, inspection preparation, and regulatory compliance across the group.
• Monitor quality assurance, Regulation 44 and 45 reporting, and improvement planning.
• Work with the leadership team on growth, new registrations, and service development.
• Build strong relationships with placing authorities, Ofsted, and partner agencies.

Requirements

• A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (essential).
• Substantial experience at Registered Manager level or above, ideally with prior Responsible Individual experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted framework.
• A track record of driving improvement and supporting homes through inspection.
