About the Role
As a Part-Time Respite Worker at Owen Health Care Inc., you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for families with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate support, allowing caregivers the necessary time to attend to personal and household matters. You will assist families by engaging children in various recreational and leisure activities primarily in a home setting, ensuring they enjoy enriching experiences both at home and within the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate support to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Engage children in recreational and leisure activities in home and community settings.
- Allow caregivers respite time to attend to personal and household matters.
- Foster a nurturing environment for children and families.
- Maintain strong verbal communication with managers, clients, and parents for seamless service delivery and prompt issue resolution.
- Ensure consistency in attendance and punctuality to provide reliable support.
- Promptly inform your direct supervisor of any changes in contact information.
