Respite Support Professional (PRN) - Work When It Works for You

About the role

Covenant Case Management Services is building a bench of skilled Respite Support Professionals across our service area. This PRN (as‑needed) position lets you choose the shifts that fit your life, with no set schedule or minimum hours. You’ll receive paid training that counts toward your professional experience, and many PRN staff use this role as a stepping stone to full‑time or part‑time positions. You’ll never be sent in cold — you’ll know the individual’s plan, preferences, and routines before your first shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide respite to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, giving families a scheduled break while you keep things safe, engaging, and steady.
• Assist with daily routines and personal care.
• Support community outings and activities.
• Encourage independence and communication.
• Document each shift accurately.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Experience supporting individuals with IDD — professional or personal caregiving both count.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus — we’ll help you obtain it if you don’t already have it.

Pay

$15.00 an hour

Schedule

PRN — as‑needed, no set schedule, no minimum hours. You’ll see available shifts and take the ones that fit your life. Nights free but weekdays booked? Perfect. Available two Saturdays a month? We’ll take it.
