About the role
The Respite Counselor will work as part of a team in an acute care residence, providing guidance, education, supervision, and direct supports to help consumers maintain their physical and emotional health, live safely in the community, and develop the skills necessary to return to independent living.Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, education, supervision, and direct supports to allow consumers to maintain their physical and emotional health, live safely in the community, and develop the skills necessary to return to independent living.
- Interact with consumers in a manner that respects their individuality and promotes crisis or situational stabilization.
- Support individuals experiencing mental health, substance use disorder, and co-occurring disorders who might otherwise require inpatient treatment.
- Engage in structured stabilization, support, care coordination, and treatment planning.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with $21.21/hour pay rate, or
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with $22.27/hour pay rate.
Qualifications
- Able to communicate in and comprehend the English language, including clearly documenting consumer progress and activities in program records.
- Able to work as a member of a team and to function independently.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Basic computer fluency, including Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and regular access to a reliable vehicle.

Pay
Pay Rate: differentials available!Schedule
- Saturday and Sunday - 7am to 3pm (Schedule Option 1)
- Saturday and Sunday - 3pm to 11pm (Schedule Option 2)
Required Experience
- Bachelors Degree or Associate Degree with one years experience, or
- High School Diploma and three years related experience.
