Responsibilities
- Demonstrate professionalism and provide quality customer service in accordance with South College’s values
- Coordinating and evaluating students during laboratory courses
- Assist the Program Director with fiscal planning and recommending the purchase of supplies and equipment
- Attending advisory committee meetings
- Teaching program courses as needed according to specified learning outcomes
- Academic advising and career related counseling for students
- Exhibit flexibility, willingness to learn, and ability to change
- Maintaining professional development in current healthcare trends, research, issues and practices (2 per year)
- Maintaining faculty development in current teaching strategies and assessment methods (2 per year)
- Providing support for programmatic and institutional initiatives
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Credentials: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Experience: Must provide and possess effective leadership and proficiency in instructional methodologies, ongoing evaluation and assessment, instruction, education, and counseling for respiratory therapy.
- Must have the equivalent of four (4) years’ experience as a RRT with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory therapy.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs.
- Must possess a current and in good standing state license.
