RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (RT) PRN DAYS
About the Role
AMG Specialty Hospital - Lafayette is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist for day shifts. This role involves treating patients with complex medical conditions, including but not limited to:
- Respiratory failure requiring ventilation, Vapotherm, high flow, BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula
- Sedation/pain management, pressor management, and cardiac/anti-arrhythmic management for complex patients
- Complicated infections requiring long-term IV antibiotics
- Chronic non-healing wounds requiring extensive treatment with wound vacs and frequent dressing changes
Responsibilities include direct and indirect patient care in a long-term acute care setting, communicating with physicians and co-workers about changes in patient conditions, and performing general nursing duties with adequate supervision.
Shift differentials are paid for all weekend shifts.
Requirements
- Completion of an approved respiratory care program
- Active Louisiana Respiratory Therapist License
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Minimum of one to three years of related work experience
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
