About the role
Community Hospital North is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist to join their dedicated team. The ideal candidate will provide respiratory care services, collaborate with nursing staff, and assist physicians in managing patient care.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates ability to assess patients appropriately, interpret results accurately, and suggest alternative treatment.
- Reviews respiratory care orders and completes breathing treatments and IS therapy as ordered.
- Works collaboratively with nursing staff on patient therapies.
- Changes modes of therapy as needed.
- Affectively manages patients under the guidance of physicians.
- Involves patients and significant others in care activities to inform and teach.
- Administers medications according to hospital policy.
- Receives/interprets telephone/verbal orders and documents them appropriately.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to use necessary patient equipment.
- Responds calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Works autonomously and independently.
Qualifications
- CRT:
- License – State of Oklahoma as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Certification by NBRC as CRT required and maintained.
- Graduate of Respiratory Care Program accredited by CoARC or equivalent education required.
- One year experience required post graduation.
- BLS Healthcare required within 30 days of hire. ACLS and PALS required within 120 days of hire. Certifications must remain current during employment.
- RRT:
- License – State of Oklahoma as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Certification by NBRC as RRT required and maintained.
- Graduate of Respiratory Care Program accredited by CoARC or equivalent education required.
- Associate Degree of Applied Science as Respiratory Therapist or equivalent required.
- One year experience required post graduation.
- BLS Healthcare required within 30 days of hire. ACLS and PALS required within 120 days of hire. Certifications must remain current during employment.
